Nefertiti, whose name means
“a beautiful woman has come,” was the queen of Egypt and wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten during the 14th century B.C. She was loved for her charisma and grace.
Nefertiti was perhaps one of the most powerful women ever to have ruled. She wears her own unique headdress—a tall, straight-edged, flat-topped crown. Her sexuality, emphasized by her exaggeratedly feminine body shape and her fine linen garments, and her fertility, emphasized by the constant appearance of the six princesses, indicate that she was considered a living fertility goddess. Like most royalty, Nefertiti held many titles during her time in power, including:
* Hereditary Princess
* Great of Praises
* Lady of Grace
* Sweet of Love
* Lady of the Two Lands
* His beloved
* Great King’s Wife
* Lady of all Women
* Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt
Nefertiti became one of the most recognizable and most beautiful female figures from the ancient world.
